Top 5 World Problems

Top 5 Problems:
1. Terrorism

2. World Hunger

3. Climate Change

4. Poverty

5. Disease

I believe that terrorism is the top problem. This is a problem that the world has been fighting against for many years, without a clear solution. We have been able to fight back and to even dismantle some terrorist groups, but more groups end up forming and we end up in the same cycle. I believe this is the top problem, because there is no clear solution. Also, this is a problem that not only hurts millions of innocent people a year, but it also scares people from living a normal life. The other problems on this list are very important, but they provide solutions that are easier to implement. Also, those solutions can be implemented in a timely manner, or at least within a certain time line. Since terrorism is based on the actions of others, it is very difficult to be able to provide a solution on how to stop it, or to set up a time line of when this problem might be solved.

Top 5 Solutions:
1. World hunger solution of having a $1 tax and using the tax to provide food for people suffering from hunger and malnutrition.

2. Climate change/pollution solution of having stricter laws and restricting the amount of pollution allowed by people and companies.

3. Poverty solution of providing people in poverty the opportunity to get an education in a trade school and to be able to obtain a job upon graduation.

4. Disease solution of educating countries and allocating more money towards research and development to fight against diseases.

5. Terrorism solution of having a higher perimeter of security and using the technology at hand to better fight against terrorists.

I believe that my top solution is the most implementable, because it is not very hard to apply a $1 tax to groceries. Also, most people would not even notice this. There are many charitable organizations that help people suffering from world hunger, so I believe that providing more food for these people would also not be extremely hard to accomplish as long as there is enough capital available. It is a lot harder to pass laws since people have to vote on these laws, and research and development to fight against diseases can take years to develop. Also, fighting terrorism has no clear solution, since it has been an ongoing problem that we have not been able to solve.

  1. I agree that your solution to the issue of world hunger is the easiest to implement. World hunger is a battle that is going to be won inch by inch and your solution is a step in the right direction. I think over time a solution like yours would slowly rid the world of this problem. The other problems and solutions on your list are great as well. Good job!
